With over 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, Melanie Taliaferro serves as the Branch Manager and Senior Loan Officer at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation (NMLS #2289) in Austin, Texas. A proud alumna of Stephen F. Austin University and former collegiate volleyball player (Axe 'em, Jacks!), Melanie combines her competitive edge and teamwork skills to lead with excellence in the mortgage space.
Since beginning her career in 2003, Melanie has earned a reputation as a top-tier mortgage professional. She has been consistently recognized as a Top Originator by Scotsman's Guide and included in Austin Monthly's Top Mortgage Professionals since 2015. Melanie has also been ranked in the Top 1% of Mortgage Originators every year since 2015. At Fairway she has been recognized as a member of Diamond Club which is the top group of originators within the company. She specializes in complex and outside of the box loans, as well as condo lending, approaching every transaction with a creative, solution-oriented mindset.
Mortgage lending is incredibly challenging and complex, but Melanie thrives on the unique blend of knowledge, creativity, and adaptability required in this field. She is passionate about her work and committed to personal growth every day. Melanie understands that her clients place a great deal of trust in her to guide them through a stressful and often confusing process. It’s a responsibility she takes to heart.
Outside of work, Melanie is dedicated to staying active through pilates and indulging in her love of skin care products. She is blessed to lead an incredible team at Fairway, whose hard work, humor, and dedication allows the team to give an outstanding customer experience. Together, they are focused on living their core values: creativity, collaboration, caring, and consistency. Whether working with first-time homebuyers or seasoned investors, Melanie’s goal is to provide tailored, strategic guidance every step of the way.
